CLOSE TO NATURE

A resort in the lap of nature in the midst of a forest. From the main road, it takes about 10 minutes to ride through the Forest. There is a waterfall you can trek up to but the water dries up in summer and even a river running right through the property (which was unfortunately dry during our visit) and even a Pool (which was not Functional) on May 2oth 2019. We stayed here for only 1 day. We were told that around October to November would be the best time to visit this Resort. *There are Beautiful, Luxury Cozy Villas surrounded by trees and plants. Villas are spacious attached with living areas followed by dining, the room is well appointed, with a King Size bed with A/C and bathroom (which was MASSIVE never seen such a huge Bathroom in any resort). The rooms were clean and well maintained. * Great 1 hr. nature walk that is complimentary was very refreshing and was very educating. Their collection of plants, trees and herbs in the property is phenomenal, many with medicinal properties. * The lack of mobile and internet connectivity made it all the more peaceful. For once nobody was over the phone. * You can hear only chirping sounds of birds, whining monkeys around and insects. * Nice indoor spaces, top of the restaurant had a good playing area for kids Chess, Carom, Archery, Badminton and Cricket. My kids enjoyed the Activity Area. * Even Cycling and Trampolina were there. * Service was prompt and the staff are very friendly and polite they try really hard to take care of guests within their limited means. Overall there is a homely feel to the place. * Food was limited but tasty. Breakfast was Indian, Evening Snacks was provided (French fries and Ketchup (which was freshly made) and Lunch & Dinner consisted of (2 Non-Veg and 2 Veg items plus a sweet). I feel that Property maintenance can be improved(Removing the dried Leaves) And while booking we weren't informed about the River being Dry nor about the Pool(not functional)since we did the booking directly that was disappointing. Overall Wildwoods is a place which appeals to all - kids, elders alike. Hope to visit and experience the Stream & Waterfall. Thank you, everyone, at Wild Woods Spa Resort for making our short vacation a memorable one.

Great location but missing some finer points

Pro's: Location is awesome, just 7 kms away from the Highway, smack in the middle of forest. Convenient location if planning on visiting surrounding temples (Kollur, Murdeshwar etc) or beaches Service is excellent, staff try really hard to take care of guests within their limited means Property is surrounded by a River (which was dry during our visit). We were told this River flows during Monsoon, if it did then adds to the appeal of this location Great 90 mins nature tour that is complimentary. Kids really enjoyed the personalized tour and was very educating. Nice indoor spaces (Roofed) on top of the restaurant has good play equipment for kids Chess, Carom, Archery, Badminton and Cricket. With the Temperature hitting 41C, this was great for kids. Food is OK. Staff prepare 2 Veg and 2 non-veg plus a sweet per lunch/dinner. There are no food options nearby. First day we found the food too spicy hot and requested for moderation. I personally liked the Indian breakfast better than lunch/dinner. Service at the restaurant is prompt. You will wake up to the sound of chirping birds, croaking toads, and whining Monkeys, which is awesome. The rooms are well appointed, with a King Size bed with A/C and a pretty decent sized bathroom Cons: *No Pool. We visited late April with kids. With the River running dry, a functioning pool would have been awesome in the heat. *No functioning Gym or running track. There is a broken spinning equipment on first floor, they could have added 1 or 2 treadmill. Both days, I took the dust road from the resort to Todahalli. The dry weather and the dust make it very difficult to get a decent run besides ruining your running shoes *Spa & Massage service are far too expensive (and exclusively for Women only). At Rs 3000 per 60 min massage, that is higher than most places in India. We stayed in Hyatt Bangalore before arriving at Wild Wood, and even there the most expensive spa & massage charges were Rs 2,200 per 60 min. *No alcohol allowed and No alternate food options other than the resort restaurant. Resort prides on being closer to nature but during my run to Todahalli Road, you can see a mountain of used plastic bottles, mattresses, broken furniture and other waste thrown on a piece of land close to the bridge. I found this very repulsive.

Good surrounding and villa/ cottage..badly maintained pool.. lots of mosquitoes around...Can do better.. food was awesome..They have a great play area..Many of the areas seemed not safe and well planned for kids.. Especially the 1st floor railing in the play area..Gaps are too much.. Even for staircase railings

We enjoyed wild woods resort for a number of reasons. Firstly it's located in a beautiful jungle with a stream flowing beside it, it's also really close to the beach. There is a waterfall you can trek up to but the water dries up in summer so the best time to visit is before February. There are cosy cottages surrounded by numerous trees and plants. It was interesting to learn about all the flora on our tour through the property. The food is very good with lots of local specialties, we enjoyed all the meals and didn't get bored eating in the same place for two days. We loved the cottages with the four post beds and large bathrooms built with local materials. There are enough activities here to keep both kids and adults happy. We also felt that the place was very reasonably priced for all that they offered and would like to visit again but preferably in winter!

I had been to this place on a weekend with family. The luxury Villa we stayed in was very spacious and beautiful. The property itself is very vast and has a lot to offer. They have kayaking and fishing in a stream that runs within the property. Bird walk and nature walk tours in the morning gave us a refreshing insight to the beautiful plants and birds residing in the property. The trek had been cancelled due to some problem. And of course there is no network within the property. ideal place for a relaxing, gadget detox retreat.
